“Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of the heaven?” Job 35:11
By Riley J. Hood—Milwaukee County Constitution Party
The first time I was exposed to this degrading statement was when I was watching a recorded debate between Christopher Hitchens and William Lane Craig. This is obviously an evolutionary term, and every time Hitchens used it, I kept thinking, “More animals, more missing links…” in other word the phrase is irritating, and it should insult any thinking person, because it quite purposefully classifies human beings as animals.
Last year National Geographic produced a sci-fi film called “Mars” which was a fictional near future narrative interspersed with “2016” commentary about where we are now. Of course all the guests want there to be life on other planets, and while they didn’t say it, they would use life on Mars as an attack on the Book of Genesis. Two commentators, Ann Druyan and Casey Dreier used the term “We as a Species” in reference to our activities being subordinated to “the Rights of Microbes.” Atheists have created a brand new “right,” the “right to evolve.”
If microbes have rights, I imagine those are rights are extremely small, only recognizable under a microscope. I would not want my God-given Rights reduced to a microscopic level. The Milwaukee County Constitution Party rejects such rubbish on its face. We are not animals; we are men made in the image God.
